  Dato’ Abu Bakar Bin Abdul Hamid

Chairman / Independent Non-Executive Director

Dato’ Abu Bakar Bin Abdul Hamid, holds a degree in Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from University of Malaya and a Diploma of International Trade from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in New Delhi, India.

Dato’ Abu Bakar was appointed to the Board as Independent Non-Executive Director of SAAG on 23 May 2001 and he also serves as the Chairman of the Audit Committee, Remuneration Committee, and Nomination Committee. He was subsequently re-designated as the Chairman of SAAG on 11 May 2009.

Spanning a range from both the government and corporate experience, he started his career serving as an Agricultural Economist in the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) in 1967 and was subsequently appointed its Director General from 1995 to 1998. He was a Board Member of FAMA Corporation Sdn Bhd and Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA). From 1996 to1998 he was also the Chairman of Koperasi Kakitangan Kementerian Pertanian Malaysia Berhad and the Deputy Chairman of the Association of Food Marketing Agencies in Asia and the Pacific.
     
  Loganathan a/l K. Ramanujam

Group's Managing Director

Loganathan a/l K. Ramanujam, holds a Masters in Business Administration from University of Arkansas, United States of America.

Loganathan was appointed to the Board as alternate Director of SAAG on 29 January 2003 and was subsequently re-designated as Executive Director on 7 May 2003 handling the business development and general administration of the Group. He is also a member of the Remuneration Committee. Loganathan is the Managing Director of SAAG since 15 April 2005.

He commenced his career with Southern Bank Berhad. From 1985 to 1990 he was attached to a local subsidiary of a listed company in United Kingdom where he was Financial and Commercial Manager. He has gained extensive experience in corporate finance and a thorough knowledge of regulations in relation to the Securities Industry during the course of his career as dealer’s representative when he joined OSK in 1990.
     
  Anand Subramanian

Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer

Anand Subramanian, holds a degree in Commerce and is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Anand was appointed to the Board as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of SAAG on 19 December 2002 and later became Executive Director of SAAG on 6 January 2004. He is the Chief Executive Officer of SAAG since 22 November 2006.

Prior to joining the Group, Anand was the Senior Vice President – Corporate Finance & Information Systems of Emrail Sdn Bhd from June 2000 to December 2002. He has extensive experience ranging from accounting, corporate finance, internal audit, structuring mergers to acquisitions since he commenced his career in 1981.
     
  Dato’ Ab Hamid Bin Mohd Nazahar

Independent Non-Executive Director

Appointed to the Board on 21 April 2011, Dato' Ab Hamid is a former Town Counsellor of Kuantan. He was a Director of LKPP Tanah Sdn Bhd and Perikanan Fort LKPP Sdn Bhd from 1995 to 2000.

Dato' Ab Hamid has a wide range of experience from the government and private sector and is currently a businessman specializing in business consulting and management services. At present, he also sits on the Board of Puncha Wangsa Sdn Bhd.
     
  Makhtar Bin Mohamed

Independent Non-Executive Director

Makhtar Bin Mohamed, holds a degree in Bachelor of Economics (Hons) in Accounting from University of Malaya and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting, University of Malaya. He is also a member with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

Makhtar was appointed to the Board on 22 January 2009 as an Independent Non-Executive Director of SAAG and he is also a member of the Audit Committee. Makhtar’s career spanned a diverse range of government and corporate experience. He started his career as an officer in Bank Bumiputra (M) Berhad in 1977 before joining South Kelantan Land Development Authority (KESEDAR) as an Accountant in 1979. In August 1980, he became the Finance Manager of Kelantan State Land Development and Rehabilitation Corporation (TAKDIR) and in May 1983 he joined University Sains Malaysia as Deputy Treasurer. During the course of his career from January 1995 to May 2004 he has also held various positions amongst others as General Manager – Business Development, FELCRA and Financial Consultant – Business Development and Executive Director of SPMC Metal Industries Berhad. He was the Chairman of Perisai Petroleum Bhd from May 2004 until June 2005 and a Board member of Modular Techcorp Holdings Bhd from July 2004 until December 2008.
